On May 22, 2019, under the patronage of the Ambassador of Finland Kirsti Kauppi, the Aschiana Foundation held its 15th Anniversary Benefit Reception at the Embassy of Finland. We honored General John W. Nicholson, USA, Ret. and Mrs. Norine MacDonald for their support of the Afghan people. Her Excellency Roya Rahmani, first female Afghan Ambassador to the US spoke of the importance of supporting local NGO such as Aschiana and also gave her personal experience with children attending Aschiana. We also heard from Rod Nickel – a senior correspondent at Reuters News about his recent visit of Aschiana.
